Geographical Location: It lies between
latitudes, 22º, 26.5º North, and longitudes 51º, 56.5º East. It is located in
Western Asia on the Arabian Gulf in the Arabian Peninsula. The UAE is bordered
to the North by the Arabian Gulf, to the East by the Gulf of Oman and the
Sultanate of Oman, to the South by the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia, and
to the West by Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Christian, Hindu, and others 4%.
Climate: From
the months of November to May, the temperature ranges from 18º to 25º Celsius,
with occasional rainfall during the winter months. Hot temperatures and high
humidity increase between the months of June and August. The average temperature
in the summer is 35º Celsius.
Rainfall: an
average of 42 millimeters per year.
Geology &
Topography: The country is made up primarily of arid desert and
salt flats. In the Northeast, the Hajar mountains rise to almost 1,200 meters.
There are fertile areas in Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and the
oases.
Economy: The country is a major oil
exporter and the UAE is one of the richest countries in the world with a GDP per
capita income of $16,500 (1995).
